The Museum
Set by a picturesque lake, the museum's collection of buildings house memorabilia from the early gold mining era, military, rural, transport, communications, steam and more . every facet of Gympie's colourful past. The displays include:
- Andrew Fisher House, the relocated & restored dwelling of the first Queensland Labor Prime Minister.
- A Military Museum and 5th Light Horse display.
- Retort House, a National Trust listed, fully restored mining building.
- Bungawatta Hut, a pioneer home from Tin Can Bay.
- Calico Creek School building depicting a 1930's schoolroom.
- Gympie Railway Institute display, railway workshop, Monkland Station and the Gympie Times Printery.
- Relics of the goldmining era .goldfield machinery, Mullock Heap, Gantry and Mine Headframe replica.
